BetMan’s Gut Pick
New York Yankees @ Minnesota Twins — Minnesota Twins

Getting a home dog at plus money against a Yankees team on the road just feels right tonight. I’m not chasing the chalk here, I’m taking the number.

Gut, not gospel — the value board is the math.

YRFI / NRFI Leans

BetMan5000
BetMan’s First-Inning Call
NRFI — Chicago White Sox @ Cleveland Guardians

Sixty percent strong lean and the starters back it up, Newcomb and Williams both work quick and keep the ball in the park early. This is the cleanest number on the board, I’m riding it.

One call with a little feel behind it — the full board below is the math.
  • NRFI Los Angeles Dodgers @ Cincinnati Reds — 51% chance the first inning stays scoreless (Tarik Skubal (2.84 ERA) vs Nick Lodolo (5.12 ERA))
  • NRFI Chicago White Sox @ Cleveland Guardians — 62% chance the first inning stays scoreless (Sean Newcomb (2.77 ERA) vs Gavin Williams (3.78 ERA))
  • NRFI Detroit Tigers @ Toronto Blue Jays — 62% chance the first inning stays scoreless (Troy Melton (2.42 ERA) vs José Soriano (3.48 ERA))
  • YRFI Baltimore Orioles @ New York Mets — 54% chance of a first-inning run (Brandon Young (3.71 ERA) vs Jonah Tong (4.80 ERA))
  • YRFI Atlanta Braves @ Chicago Cubs — 66% chance of a first-inning run (Reynaldo López (4.13 ERA) vs David Peterson (5.28 ERA))
  • YRFI New York Yankees @ Minnesota Twins — 63% chance of a first-inning run (Will Warren (4.05 ERA) vs Dean Kremer (5.65 ERA))
  • YRFI San Francisco Giants @ St. Louis Cardinals — 51% chance of a first-inning run (Landen Roupp (4.00 ERA) vs Quinn Mathews (4.11 ERA))

New to first-inning markets? Start with our guide: NRFI and YRFI, explained.

How we read these boards: how to read a matchup.

The Pick comes from our power ratings — season scoring differential, strength-adjusted matchup math, and home edge — blended with the market’s no-vig fair price; the number shown is that blend’s win probability. The Total is built the same way: we estimate each side’s scoring from what these teams score and concede (for baseball, adjusted for the listed starters and the ballpark), recentre that estimate against the day’s posted numbers so a modelling bias can’t tilt the whole board, and compare it to the line. A MODEL FLIP means our ratings like the side the market has as the underdog. A “VALUE” tag is a different thing: it means the best available number beats the fair price by 3–12% (sometimes that value sits on the side we don’t pick to win — a good price and a likely winner aren’t always the same bet). These are leans, not locks — decision support for bets you were already considering, on whatever book or market you use. Lines move; check the current number before you do anything.
